We are still in the season of Lent, of remembering not just the way to the cross but the way of the cross, also known as the Sacred Way. Recall that the “Sacred Way” is MORE OF HIM AND LESS OF ME. This was the story of Simon of Cyrene, the man who the Roman soldiers enlisted to help Jesus carry the cross. The story is short and does not tell us much about Simon other than that he carried the cross. But there is more to this act of service than meets the eye.
