This week we light the candle of Love but the story this week of David and Bathsheba, does not, at first glance, appear very loving. How do you love a guy that kills your husband, even if he is the King, or a God that allows your dream life to be turned upside down? How do you love a bunch of people that you are forced to live with and who watch your every move? You can read the entire account in the following passages: 2 Samuel 11 & 12  and 1 Kings 1 & 2. There are so many twists and turns in this story that even scholars disagree on what to make of it. This story has be spun to save face by many communities, but why does it need to be told at all? The answer lies, as always, in the mystery of Love.
