This is already the third Sunday in Advent and today we light the candle of JOY. Once again we are not doing the traditional story of Joy, that being the story of the shepherd tending their flocks of sheep. In Keeping with the Kid Venture theme for this Advent season we are looking at stories of women in Bible and today’s story is about Rahab. Once again it is the story of a woman marginalized by society but included by God. It is a story about surrender, and about no longer hiding behind the safety of our walls. It is about finally trusting the one and only God against all odds. In this sense it really is a Christmas story especially in that it is directly related to the Messiah Jesus Christ.
