Forever Empty

In our culture there is a fear that “Underneath everything in your life, there’s that thing: that empty, forever empty.” (Louis C.K.) This fear drives us to develop strategies to keep us far away from that “forever empty”. Yet, hard as it is, there is something good about being with our “forever empty”. Doing that which is “hard but good” is made possible by the presence of someone “being with” us. Jayne will be reflecting on what she experienced this summer when she stepped into the “forever empty” of witnessing the death of her mom, when she practiced “being with” and experienced Jesus “being with” her.
