PSALM 46

You know the adage “I am at the end of my rope”? It’s reference is to hanging as in when the neck snaps and the convicted dies. It is also used to refer to addicts who have used and abused their lives so that nothing is left. It is a place of no hope. Psalm 46 addresses that place by pointing to God. It is a poem that could have been written by a criminal who could not find God until they were ‘on the inside’. It was written by someone who knew what it was to get a last second reprieve and who wants others to know that God’s Grace is always an option no matter how bad things may look or feel.
